Shelly Burge - National Sewing Machine Company Collection
National Sewing Machine Company in Belevidere, Illinois made American Girl, Eldredgette and Stitchwell toy sewing machines
Black machines are probably the easiest to find, this nice American Girl was purchased at the Toy Stitchers International convention in Houston, TX in 2005.
Yellow American Girl machines are rare. I looked for many years before finding this one.
This red machine is in mint condition. It also came with the original box, clamp and instruction booklet.
The blue paint on this American Girl is not in very good condition but it is a rare color.
American Girl machines also came in green.
This looks like a green American Girl machine but look closely - it is marked Canvas Craft. There is a paper label inside that says it was made by National Sewing Machine Company.
The National Sewing Machine Company made the Stitchwell cast iron toy sewing machines. This is a treadle model with two small drawers in the table.
